Looking for any known three barrel sets with matching numbers. Do you know of any?
Searching For Information No one has determined the actual number of precision Merwin & Hulbert Firearms produced in the late 1800's. The study continues to this day. Information is the key to gaining ground on this well made piece. Please contact Terry Wagner by e-mailing your serial numbers and assembly numbers. List the features and the models if you know them. Such as, The Spur Trigger, Frontier, Pocket Army, or Pocket Models in .32 and .38 caliber. This is a never ending study and any effort you can give will help.
Research on the SMOOTH BORE Frontier Army 4th Model = **** Information Needed ****
I am doing some research on the 4th Model Frontier Army in .44-40Smooth Bore. I would like you to contact me with any information on this subject. Currently I have a specimen (#609) and it appears to be all factory done. The bore size is smaller than one that would have been drilled or honed out. The bore also tapers down from the cylinder to the end of the barrel. This one could be the one Art Phelps talked about when he spoke of a Wild West Shotshell Target example known to exist. If you have a Smooth Bore, please e-mail me. Thanks!
The actual bore size of this smooth bore is smaller than the standard .44-40 or the .44 M&H. Is this the only one known to exist? If you have such an animal please let me know. Terry
